   The Divine Life Church of Baltimore is a community that honors all paths to God and the universality of the world's major scriptures and spiritual traditions. These traditions include the mystical teachings of Jesus, Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, Judaism, and others. Swami Shankarananda expounds on personal application of universal spiritual themes and principles. The emphasis is on living a blissful, intuitive life, and nurturing world brotherhood. Service begins at 11 a.m. and doors open at 10:30.KARMA YOGA, the work of beautifying the church and the grounds, continues everySaturday, and the new hours for now are 11 a.m. to 4. This offers a way for everyone to contribute to the beauty of the environment and the well-being of the neighborhood.Sunday School Children from infancy to twelve are welcome to explore the philosophy our church through lessons that include play, experiments, art, drama, music, and gardening, allowing the divinity of each child to unfold in an atmosphere of unconditional love. FRIDAY NIGHT HEALING SERVICES The service consists of a brief silent meditation, a guided healing meditation for others and for the planet, and touch of healing for anyone who wants to participate. Swami Shankarananda then presents an in-depth revelation of world scriptures—the mystical and universal perspective for self-transformation. Doors open at 7 p.m., meditation begins at 7:30. New Friday Night Series: The PHILOSOPHY OF KRIYA YOGAOctober through December, Swami Shankarananda is offering a Friday evening series of talks on The PHILOSOPHY OF KRIYA YOGA. This is the first time this series has been offered. Kriya is both a powerful, transforming meditation technique and a practical spiritual philosophy of living. At the conclusion of the series of talks, Swami will offer kriya initiation to those who are interested and qualifiedMONTHLY SPIRITUAL DISCUSSION GROUP, First Sunday of the Month: Swami Shankarananda faciltiates a lively and enlightening discussion based on questions attendees have written anonymously. All are welcome. Participants may drop in to any group. The discussion begins at 3 and doors open at 2:45. MONTHLY TAOISM DISCUSSION GROUP, Third Sunday of the Month: Cancelled for December and Resumes in January. Each month, we discuss one passage from the Tao Te Ching written by the Taoist sage Lao-Tzu. The emphasis is always on the direct application of Taoism in our everyday life. Swami Shankarananda facilitates this relaxed and joyful discussion and everyone participates at the level they are comfortable with. All are welcome and no previous experience with Taoism is needed. Participants may drop in to any group. The discussion begins at 4 p.m., and doors open at 3:45. MEDITATION GROUP, First and Third Wednesday of the month: Our group meditation has expanded to twice monthly. The meditation is located at the church and led by Premadas, Michael Humphrey. The meditation begins at 8 p.m., and the church doors will open at 7:50. Please come in silently and take your seat. Also, please bring a notebook and pen. We are a diverse, supportive community of spiritual seekers from a variety of backgrounds including Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Jewish, and Taoist.
