I am the Director of the X-Ray Crystallography Facility at the Kasha Laboratory (Photos), Institute of Molecular Biophysics. My official designation is Research Associate (12 month non-tenured faculty) at Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL 32306-4380. I have been associated with the Facility since its inception and with the Institute & FSU since 1993. In this website you will find information about my work and interests.I am responsible for the day to day operation of the Facility including teaching graduate students, post-docs, and staff how to collect, process and interpret macromolecular x-ray diffraction and scattering data. I maintain and upgrade the hardware and software on XRF Instruments and XRF Computers. I also maintain and update the X-Ray Facility Website: www.sb.fsu.edu/~xray. I serve as a safety officer for Kasha Lab and coordinate safety training for members of the Lab with FSU Safety Office.I am a co-author on several peer-reviewed publications (list). During summer term I work with the Department of Biological Science's out-reach initiative called Young Scholars Program. I frequently accompany students to the SER-CAT beamline in Advanced Photon Source at the Argonne National Lab and National Synchrotron Light Source at the Brookhaven National Laboratory and MacCHESS at Cornell for synchrotron data collection. I am a member of the American Crystallographic Society.
